生徒のAさんがお子様と一緒に
one of my students Ms. A said she went to


与論島へ行ったとのことで
Yoron island with her daughter,


お土産を頂きました～
and she brought me a souvenir!!

与論について今回チョット教えてもらったのですが
This time she shared some info about Yoron.


私が思っていたよりも沖縄本島にかなり近いようです
The island was located actually
a lot closer to Okinawa than I imagined.



本部港からフェリーでたったの2時間
It takes only 2 hours by ferry from Motobu port.



鹿児島県の一部ではありますが
The island belongs to Kagoshima Pref. but


鹿児島よりも全然近いっていう…
looks like it's much closer from Okinawa than Kagoshima.



星砂が見つかるということで有名な
They have a beautiful beach called


「百合ケ浜」という美しいビーチもあるそうです
"Yuriga-Hama," famous for the star sands.

I think it could be a good place to visit for the couples in love.



ちなみに20?30?年前は
20 or 30 years ago, in fact,


与論はナンパ島として有名だったとも…
the island was famous as a
place to pick up boys/girls, she said.



行くのが一足遅かったね～なんて
"Well..., we missed it!!!"



お土産話に花を咲かせました
we said to each other and laughed.



来年の夏には私も行けたらいいなぁ～
Hope I can visit there maybe next summer.
